In technical essence, jailbreaking of an iPhone means making the mobile device free from the limitations imposed on it by the carrier – AT&T or Verizon and Apple. The User installs a software application on the computer, and then transfers the same to the iPhone, where it ‘breaks open’ the iPhone’s file system to allow the User to modify it.
